About Premier Ballet Academy Cairo

Founded in 2016 by Principal Dancers Ahmed Yehia and Anja Ahcin, Premier Ballet Academy Cairo is Egypt’s most awarded ballet academy and the first in the country to adopt the International Ballet School curriculum.

Our structured program develops dancers from foundational levels to advanced professional training at our Maadi campus. The academy is officially accredited by the Belgrade National School of Ballet, ensuring every student receives training that meets international standards.

Program Structure at Premier Ballet Academy Cairo

Pre-Ballet Division (Ages 3–6)

Four progressive levels introducing students to ballet fundamentals, musicality, coordination, and expressive movement.

Ballet School (Ages 7+)

Ten structured levels following the International Ballet School curriculum, guiding dancers from foundational technique to advanced professional standards. Students undergo biannual examinations to assess technical development and progress.

COMPLEMENTARY SUBJECTS

Repertoire Class
Students learn choreography from classical ballets performed at Cairo Opera House and international venues.

Partnership Class
Training in classical pas de deux techniques essential for professional stage work.

Character Dance
Exploration of global dance traditions including Russian, Hungarian, Spanish, Gypsy, and Mazurka, as well as historic ballroom styles such as Polonaise, Minuet, and Waltz.

Contemporary Dance
Develops modern movement vocabulary, creativity, and freedom of expression.

Fitness & PBT Conditioning
Strength, alignment, flexibility, and stamina training tailored for professional ballet performance.

School Founders - Anja Accin & Ahmed Yehia

Anja Ahcin – Founder & Senior Instructor

Graduating in 2006 as the top student of her generation, Anja received recognition from the King of Serbia for her achievements. She earned multiple national and international ballet awards, including victories at the National Ballet Competitions in 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2006, as well as the Premio Roma competition in Italy.

After graduating, Anja joined the National Theatre of Belgrade before moving to Egypt, where she became a principal dancer of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company in 2008. She has danced leading roles in major classical and contemporary ballets including Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Le Corsaire, Spartacus, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Cleopatra, and more.

Throughout her international career, she has worked with renowned choreographers and performed as a guest artist across Europe, Asia, and North America. Anja holds a master’s degree in ballet pedagogy.

Ahmed Yehia – Principal Dancer & Co-Founder

Ahmed graduated from the Higher Institute of Ballet with excellence and became a principal dancer of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company. In 2000, he won first prize as Egypt’s best ballet dancer and went on to represent the country in major international competitions in Japan and Russia.

His repertoire includes leading roles in Spartacus, Zorba, Le Corsaire, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, and Swan Lake. In 2005, he performed the role of Basilio alongside Julio Bocca at the Cairo Opera House.

Ahmed has served as a jury member for international ballet competitions worldwide and, since 2017, has been part of the Artistic Council of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. In 2021, he was appointed Deputy Manager of the Cairo Opera Ballet Company. He is currently completing his master’s degree in choreography at the Belgrade Institute.
